XUV Fork Ultrasonic Sensor

Using thru-beam technology, the XUV ultrasonic sensor from Schneider Electric detects labels of any material, size, color or translucency.

Suitable for various detection applications:

• Label, ply, double-sheet, splice, and wrinkle/seam detection
• Detects labels between thicknesses of 0.03 mm (0.001") and 0.08 mm (0.003")
• Adjustable threshold allows for accurate and precise sensing
• Operating Temperature: 5° C to 55° C (41° F to 131° F)
• Rated IP65

The thru-beam technology in this sensor sends sound through an object and determines the thickness by how much sound is returned. Less sound means a thicker object; more sound means a thinner object.

The detection threshold of the sensor is easily adjusted using the +/- keys on the sensor. The sensor can be locked to avoid unnecessary adjustments. Even if the sensor is powered down and turned back on, it will retain its previous settings.
